About Book Club

The Chasing Excellence Book Club isn’t complicated. We pick one book, break it into four parts, and meet for 30-minutes once a week to talk about it. That’s it.

You don’t have to finish the whole book before we start. Heck, you don’t even have to read that week’s pages if life gets in the way. Just show up, listen, and take away what you can.

Meeting Times

Add the Book Club to your calendar. Because the book club is a four-week series with a two-week break in between each book, you will need to "re-add" the calendar meeting after the conclusion of each book.

Add to Calendar

The book club is now running from Wednesday, March 11th, to Wednesday, April 1st. The meetings will be at 3:00 PM CST.

Now Reading: Unreasonable Hospitality by Will Guidara

Will Guidara was twenty-six when he took the helm of Eleven Madison Park, a struggling two-star brasserie that had never quite lived up to its majestic room. Eleven years later, EMP was named the best restaurant in the world.

Hosts: Book Worms

Each book series will have a few designated hosts - usually 3 to 4 people who’ve actually read the book and can help guide the conversation.

We’ll rotate hosts, so if you ever want to be part of that crew, let us know. You won’t have to carry the whole call - just be ready to contribute.

"Can't Read Good?" It's Okay.

The format open and casual. It’s 30 minutes of discussion, takeaways, and interaction. You can stay quiet and absorb, or jump in and share your thoughts. Either way, you’ll leave with something useful. (And yes, that's a Derek Zoolander quote).

Between Books: Two Week Break

We take about two weeks off after each book. That gives us time to pick the next book and get ahead so we're not rushed each week.

Occasionally there may be a lull longer than two weeks - it will depend on the calendar and what other events may be taking place.
